How to Make an Easy Frittata Recipe

It looks and sounds really fancy, Frit-tata! But in reality, it's a super easy and delicious breakfast recipe that will always impress your guests. We love utilizing leftover meat to toss together a fresh frittata for an easy breakfast that will feed a few people.


Frittata means "fried" and essentially it's fried eggs. fairly simple right? It's similar to an omelette or quiche, made in a skillet and combined ingredients cooked and then baked to crisp it up. It's an amazingly delicious twist on the traditional scrambled eggs. If you haven't tried this, be sure to whip it up for breakfast soon, everyone will love it and you'll be impressed with the flavor as well. We love to drizzle it with hot sauce or salsa and enjoy!

Frittata Breakfast


INGREDIENTS:

12 eggs

1/4 c milk or heavy cream

1 c. shredded cheese (whatever you like i.e. cheddar, Gouda, Swiss, mozzarella)

1.5 c. leftover steak, pork, sausage, or bacon

1/2 c cherry tomatoes

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

Pepper to taste


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a 12” skillet. Whisk eggs, cream and seasonings in a bowl and pour into the skillet.

  2. Start to cook the egg mixture over medium heat. You no longer need to stir.

  3. Add meat, tomatoes, and sprinkle cheese over the top. No stirring. Continue to cook until bottom and middle have pretty well set up. This probably takes about 10 minutes.

  4. Turn oven on broil. Remove the skillet from the stovetop and place it in the oven to broil/finish cooking the top of the frittata. This only takes a few minutes. I typically watch through the oven door until the top looks set and browned. Remove from oven and let sit for a minute. It is common for the top to bubble up. These will shrink back down when removing from the oven.

  5. Loosen the sides and bottom from the pan and slide Frittata onto a plate/platter. Cut into slices like a pizza to serve.
