Spring 2021 Trends & Color Palette

Updated: May 4, 2021

We're super excited about the trends we are seeing in the market. We're seeing a lot of rattan & wicker, bold prints & florals, garland strands, and fun colors incorporated into the palette. We love to watch the colors for each season from Women's Wear Daily, Pantone, Sherwin Williams, and Behr. Check out these 3 big trends The Anchored Style thinks you need to know about for Spring.

THE BIG THREE:

  1. Rattan & Wicker- This trend in furniture and decor is making a huge swing back from the past. But we think it's being done in a classy way and it can bring texture and dimension to your decorating. We are using these water hyacinth braided placemats in our Spring tablescape to incorporate this trend. This swinging rattan chair would be an ultra fun alternative to a standard outdoor chair and bring this wicker feel to your home or patio.

  2. Bead Garland- These are being made from wood, sea-glass, and ceramic beads and they are so fun to drape over books, wind throughout your existing decor on shelves, tables, tablescapes, etc. They add a fun low level dimension to your decor, and we are seeing them in many retail destinations, catalogs, and on-line. This wood one with fun tassels on each end from Amazon is cheap and highly rated! For an added nautical touch, how adorable are these navy & white wood beads with the tassel at one end and sand dollar at the other?

  3. Large & Bold Prints- Bold print wallpaper is showing up everywhere, even on ceilings in some cases! Large size repeating prints, including large floral prints, are really trending in interior design. If you have a history with removing wallpaper, you are probably thinking ... no way, am I going down that path again. But, when you see the beauty of some of these new options, you might consider them just on an accent wall, or you can just take the trend and work it into your accent pieces like pillow, wall hangings, etc. I love the large blue damask print shown in the trend image or these navy fern leaf repetitive patterns.

We've also included four colors we're seeing a lot of this year. We watch trend colors carefully to see how they come to life in home interior design, home decor, fashion, and accessories. It's so interesting to see how prominent each color works its way into our lives throughout the season. Shown here are: Naval from Sherwin Williams, Burnt Coral from Pantone, Behr's Back to Nature, & Mint from Pantone.

Which color are you loving? Are you incorporating any of these trends in your decor this year? We have our eyes on one of those fun rattan chairs -- just trying to determine where it will live. How fun would it be to hang a couple of those on a dock and spend an afternoon just taking in all the beauty of a day by the water? Keep an eye out for our upcoming posts on how we have worked in these trends at The Anchored Style.

xoxo,

Kim & Ashley
